Apple now allows users to personalize their AirPods and AirPods Pro boxes with a single emoji engraving.
The announcement was made via a banner ad on the main Apple page, accompanied by the text “New options for personal engraving, from A to emoji”.
While you still can’t customize them with each emoji, Apple has provided buyers with a list of 31 different emojis to choose from. Some of the included are a heart, a star, a unicorn, a skull, a cat, a dog, a fist and a raised thumb.
When purchasing AirPods or AirPods Pro via the Apple Online Store, selecting “Customize for free” will bring up the option of engraving the product. There, a user can choose to engrave the case with text or an emoji, but not both. Currently, it is not possible to burn other devices, such as an iPhone or iPad, with emojis.
The engraving is the same laser engraving as that carried out when personalizing a case with text. Burning a product may take longer to ship to users, and no engraved devices can be returned for a refund.
