Last month, Xiaomi unveiled its latest Android One smartphone, the Mi A2, at an event in Madrid, Spain. Today the company started with the telephone on the Indian market. The handset arrives as the successor of last year Mi A1 (review) and brings a more modern map. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi A2 also launches the standard version of Android 8.1 Oreo and receives a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a premium all-metal monocoque design and is equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. The device receives a Full HD + 5.99-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. The power supply of the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. The device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of original storage.
At the back, the Xiaomi Mi A2 receives a 12-megapixel main camera, assisted by a 20-megapixel secondary shooter. At the front a 20-megapixel snapper selfie with a special LED flash. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers dual-SIM card, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C and A-GPS slots. A 3.010 mAh battery keeps the entire pack alive. The device supports Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology in India, making it the first phone to feature this feature in the country.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is appreciated and priced at Rs 16.999 and is available in the color options black, blue and gold. The phone is available from tomorrow afternoon for pre-order on Amazon India and Mi.com. The device will be sold on August 16 via Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home and the brand's favorite partner stores. The company is working with Reliance Jio to provide users of the Mi A2 with a refund of 2200 rupees and up to 4.5 TB of extra data.
Xiaomi has also announced that it will soon launch a new version of the phone with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage space. The price of this model will be announced at the launch.
