Imports into India of Apple’s main supplier Foxconn have been slowing due to escalating tensions between the country and China. Reuters reported that Apple is among the companies looking to release its deliveries.
Customs officials in Indian ports have detained shipments from China and requested additional permits after deadly clashes at the disputed Himalayan border last month. Checks were imposed without formal order. While several companies like Apple (AAPL.O) and Dell (DELL.N) fought to free up blocked deliveries, hundreds of workers at two factories of Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn in the south had no major work to do this week as deliveries were delayed, sources said.
