Questionnaire: The driver prefers CarPlay over Android Auto, but Google Maps is more popular than Apple Maps

Over the years, CarPlay has become increasingly popular as more car manufacturers adopt automotive platforms. J.D. Power will issue a new report to examine the user satisfaction level between CarPlay and Android Auto this week and Apple will come up first.

According to the driver's survey, CarPlay users report "quite high satisfaction" than Android Auto users. At a 1000 point scale, CarPlay's satisfaction level is 777 and Android Auto's satisfaction level is 748.

In addition, users are increasingly unnecessary for navigation systems and infotainment systems installed in factories. Instead, the driver chooses a platform such as Android Auto or CarPlay.

The factory-installed navigation system can easily be replaced with another device. In fact, 19% of new vehicle owners who own the navigation installed at the factory do not use it, 70% of which are different devices, almost always using smartphones.

Apple is leading CarPlay's customer satisfaction, but Google is still leading in terms of mapping. 56% of the drivers said that they are using Google Maps most frequently, 23% using Apple Maps and 16% using Waze are using Ways.

However, Google is reversing about navigation. Among the owners who are using their navigation system, 56% use Google Maps most frequently, 16% mostly use Waze owned by Google, 23% use Apple Maps the most . Even the iPhone owner tends to use Google Maps over Apple Maps.
