The fingerprint readers are great. When they work.

One thing I’ve noticed since switching to an iPhone with Face ID instead of Touch ID is how quicker and more accurate it is to use my face than my fingers.

Not only is the placement of fingerprints on the sensor critical, but people who work with their hands will find that their fingerprints can wear out to the point of becoming unreliable (but not enough to get away with crimes, in case you’re wondering. ).

If you work with your hands outdoors or as a technician or mechanic, this will be a problem, but it’s also a problem – if not a bigger problem – for people with demanding hobbies like rock climbing or weights.
