Twitter Testing Sending Prompt to Users Posting ‘Offensive’ Replies

Twitter should test the sending of prompts to users who may use “offensive or hurtful language” in their responses. Users will be informed if the language of their tweet is similar to that used in the messages that were reported when they clicked on “send”.

Twitter to entice potential rule breakers

The decision to send or not to invite will be based on current social network policies prohibiting insults, racist or sexist tropes and degrading content. Sunita Saligram, global responsible for Twitter’s trust and security policy, said Reuters:

We try to encourage people to rethink their behavior and rethink their language before posting because they are often in the heat of the action and they might say something they regret.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
