Yale economist Professor Fiona Scott Morton has written about the lawsuits against Google and Facebook. She has also been hired by Apple and Amazon to help them navigate these probes (although this has not been revealed in recent articles). There is an interesting profile of her on Bloomberg News.
Scott Morton, hailed in a 2019 article in the New Republic as an “antitrust crossover,” said she started consulting for Amazon last year, while her work for Apple dates back several years. She said that she usually discloses her clients when speaking at conferences. Lack of disclosure on Google and Facebook documents, she said, shouldn’t be a problem because Apple and Amazon didn’t pay to write them. In addition, she added, these documents did not focus on either Apple or Amazon.
