Orange And Apple Working to Launch French Coronavirus Contact Tracing App in May

Apple is in talks with Orange, the largest telecommunications operator in France, to develop a contact tracking application against coronaviruses. We think the application should be ready by the end of May (via Reuters).

Marie-Noelle Jego-Laveissiere, chief technology and innovation officer of the firm, gave the end of May as the approximate period at which such an application is likely to be ready.

In addition, “there are meetings almost every day,” according to Orange CEO Stephen Richards. “We have a dynamic of discussion with Apple which is not bad,” he added.
