Apple released two new videos over the weekend, representing artists using their products to create at home. A clip shows GRAMMY winner James Blake writing a song. The other follows Tyler Mitchell, the first black photographer to shoot a US Vogue cover, creating a new series of portraits. We both tracked remote cameras for 24 hours.
“Behind the Mac” gives an overview of the methods of the best artists
Even if they are short, I really enjoyed these videos. Without revealing any state secrets, they give mortals a glimpse of how artists function at the top of their game.
For Mr. Blake, Logic Pro X is at the heart of the configuration of his home studio. Meanwhile, Mr. Mitchell transformed his bedroom into a studio and editing suite, using a MacBook Pro and Photoshop to produce a series of portraits.
It is not the first time that Mr. Blake has produced a home video work for Apple. A previous clip showed him producing a song using a Mac Book Pro and Logic Pro X.
