With Apple’s update of the 27-inch iMac, a new option is available that was previously only offered on the Pro Display XDR. You can now configure your iMac with a nano-texture display. This keeps glare to an absolute minimum, but cleaning the nano-textured glass on your new iMac is quite different from other display options.
What’s wrong with nano-textured glass?
When you order your 27-inch iMac with nano-textured glass, Apple etches the coating on the screen at the nanometer level. Apple claims that it “reduces glare while preserving contrast, for stunning image quality.” The texture diffuses light as it hits the screen, minimizing glare and reducing unwanted haze and flicker from normal matte coatings.
Apple provides a special cleaning cloth for nano-textured glass. the company says you should never use any other material on the screen or you risk damaging the glass. So how can you clean the nano-textured glass on your new 27-inch iMac if it’s really dirty?

In fact, the key to removing tough stains is something you probably already have around the house. Remove this 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution from your medicine cabinet. Dampen the cleaning cloth with it and you can easily wipe off the hard-to-remove stains.
