Monday’s House hearing for Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google’s CEOS is expected to be delayed. The successful session was to be the first time that Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai had appeared together in such a setting. However, the hearing reportedly ran into a memorial service for Rep. Joh Lewis (D-Ga) who died last week (via CNBC).
Hearing delayed to avoid coinciding with Representative John Lewis memorial
The antitrust hearing, which had required careful negotiation, now appears to be delayed. As of this writing, no postponed date has been confirmed or suggested. The work of the House Judiciary Committee and the Antitrust Subcommittee had previously been delayed due to the COVID-10 pandemic. The Representative Lewis Memorial will be held Monday at 2 p.m. ET at the U.S. Capitol.
