Audio News Launches for Apple News+ and Apple Podcasts

iOS 13.6 was released today and an update included versions of new audio stories written by professional comedians. There is also a new podcast called Apple News Today.

Two separate new audio is available. Starting today, Apple News editors will organize about 20 audio stories each week across a wide range of categories. Told by professional comedians, these stories will come from publishers like Fast Company, New York magazine, Wired, Vogue and others. These will be included in your News + subscription in a new Audio tab.

Apple News Today

In addition, a new podcast called Apple News Today is launched, free for everyone. Co-hosts Shumita Basu and Duarte Geraldino will guide listeners through some of the most fascinating stories and how the best journalists cover them. This informationon will be available Monday through Friday in Apple News and Apple Podcasts.

Local News

Finally, Apple News is also expanding to include more local news currently available to customers in the Bay Area, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. In addition, Apple News + includes access to major local and regional newspapers, such as The Charlotte Observer, Idaho statesmen, Kansas City Star, Miami Herald, The News & Observer and The State ( Columbia, South Carolina).

In Canada, the main French-language newspaper Le Devoir is now available to Apple News + subscribers, and the Globe and Mail will be available to subscribers later this summer.
