Apple won 63 patents on Tuesday. Perhaps the most interesting was a new repositionable control that could be used with iPads, Macs and other devices (via Obviously Apple).
New Apple Patents Indicate Concentration On Product
There is a lot to accept with the patent. It seems that the repositionable control device can be used to do things like adjusting the volume of the media being played or changing the temperature of a thermostat. The button is repositionable, so it can be removed and attached to screens and other devices. In theory, it could therefore be used on an iPad, Mac or cars. The patent also suggests that it could take other forms, such as having a sliding control and buttons. In addition, input-output devices may involve sensors monitoring elements such as ambient light, proximity, force, and touch.
[Apple Patent Shows Folding Device With TouchBar]
Apple filed the patent in the second quarter of 2017. As always with patents, we need to take a wait and see approach. It could really be used in any number of devices, but it’s certainly interesting.
