TSMC released its latest earnings report this morning.
“Our fourth quarter business was supported by strong demand for our industry-leading 5nm technology, driven by the launch of 5G smartphones and HPC-related applications,” said Wendell Huang, VP and Chief Financial Officer of TSMC.
(HPC is High Performance Computing, which in this case refers to supercomputers rather than distributed computing. Last year, an ARM-based supercomputer became the fastest computer in the world.)
