This chat app will allow you to use iMessage on Android, Windows

To simplify the social messaging experience for users, the former CEO of the Pebble smartwatch brand has created an all-in-one platform for 15 of the world’s popular chat apps. Dubbed “Beeper”, this new platform was created by a team that includes Pebble co-founder Eric Migicovski, who says the service will allow users to use Apple’s iMessage on Android, Windows and even Linux.

Now, if you are unaware, iMessage is an Apple-only service as it works exclusively on the company’s devices such as iPhones, iPads and Macs. It is the part of the closed ecosystem that Apple is known for and, as a result, the app It has never been available to Android or Windows users since its launch.

However, with Beeper, Migicovski claims that you will be able to access iMessage on your Android, Windows or Linux devices “using some trick”.

And yes, iMessage also works on Android, Windows and Linux using a few tricks πŸ™‚

How does it work?

Upon entering the FAQ section of the platform, the team states that β€œit was tough [issue] to understand “but found that if a user installs the Beeper Mac app on a Mac device that is always connected to the Internet, the Mac” acts as a bridge “for Beeper to run iMessage on literally any platform.

Now, if you don’t have a Mac that can be connected to a network at all times, the company will send you a jailbroken iPhone with the Beeper app installed. Then, you will be able to use the jailbroken device as a bridge. And if you think the company is joking about sending an iPhone, Migicovski later confirmed in a comment that this initiative is indeed real. This means that you will not only get iMessage support on multiple platforms, but also on an older generation iPhone.

In addition to supporting iMessage, Beeper supports a number of other messaging services including nearly all popular ones like Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Twitter, Signal, WhatsApp, and even work-focused Slack.

You can find the entire list of supported messaging services right below:

  • Whatsapp
  • Facebook Messenger
  • iMessage
  • Android Messages (SMS)
  • Telegram
  • Twitter
  • Slack
  • Hangouts
  • Instagram
  • Skype
  • IRC
  • Matrix
  • Discord
  • Signal
  • Network of acoustic signals

Now, keep in mind that Beeper is a subscription-based platform with a monthly subscription fee of $ 10 (~ Rs.730). We can’t confirm whether this price includes the jailbroken iPhone or not, but it most likely should. You can check Beeper on it Official site and subscribe to the service from this link.
