Public betas for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 are rolling out today and bring a long list of new features, including the biggest changes to the iOS home screen we’ve seen over the years.
This will be the first opportunity for anyone not enrolled in Apple’s developer program to try out the new operating systems, which we expect to see in their final form later this summer. The usual warnings about beta versions apply – there are very likely bugs or glitches that Apple is still in the process of fixing, so if this is going to be a big deal for you, make sure your device is backed up (or just wait the final version).
What you’ll probably notice first is that Apple has redesigned the iOS home screen: you can now add and customize various “widgets” in addition to apps, and there’s a new “App Library” view that automatically organizes your programs into groups and lists – it’s a similar concept to the android app …
