The original Apple TV + ‘Servant’ reportedly doubles the audience with the second season premiere

The second season of M. Night Shyamalan’s “Servant” hit record numbers when it premiered on Apple TV + last week, reportedly closing in on audiences of blockbusters “Defending Jacob” and “Ted.” Period”.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Deadline reports the second season premiere of “Servant” more than doubled the spectacle audience year after year. Additionally, Apple only released one episode on January 15, compared to three released when the series launched last year.

The increase in the number of domestic viewers was supported by year-over-year audience growth in France, Mexico and Spain, the report said.

The strong interest in the second season is increasing the viewers of the first season. According to sources, viewing for the first 10 episodes grew more than fivefold last week from the final six-month average. These figures include both existing Apple TV + subscribers who have reviewed the first season and new users who are catching up on the story.

One of Apple TV + ‘s first high – profile releases, “Servant” is a psychological thriller that tells the story of a couple who suffered the tragic loss of their young son and began caring for a doll in his place. The show stars Lauren Ambrose, Rupert Grint, Nell Tiger Free and Toby Kebbell.

Shyamalan discussed the show in a recent interview, saying Apple was “super supportive” of the production. Apple renewed “Servant” for a third season in December.

AppleInsider looked into the first episode and found that, while visually appealing and disturbing, the show’s storyline is wearing out.

The second episode of the second season will begin streaming on January 22.
