My photo library from 2000 onwards has over 70,000 photos divided into three different organizing methods
From 2015 onwards – Fully on OS X Photos and iCloud backup
2009-2015 – Part of it is on OS X and icloud photos but not all of them. The rest (including those in OS X photos) are organized in the traditional folder format with Year-> Event -> photo file hierarchy
2000-2009 – All photos are in traditional folder format with Year-> Event -> photo file hierarchy
I thought I’d consolidate everything and explore my options:
1) Import 2000-2015 photos into existing photo library and then remove duplicates via photos
2) Create a new library: import the photos from 2000-2015 and let the duplicates remain
3) Anything else?
If possible, I would like to keep the folder structure data considering that older photos may not necessarily have the correct exif data for dates, etc. Maybe something that allows me to use existing folder structure metadata to organize them as albums separated by …
