The analyst says Apple’s “ biggest mistake ” wasn’t acquiring Netflix

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, who has an outperformance rating on Apple shares, said today that he believes Apple’s “biggest strategic mistake” was not the acquisition of Netflix years ago.

Ives believes Apple does not yet have a huge share in the streaming video industry and is behind Netflix, Amazon and Disney. Ives says it’s not just Tim Cook’s strategic mistake, but Steve Jobs’s when he was Apple’s CEO.

In an interview for Yahoo Finance, Dan Ives said Apple would be in a better position in the current streaming wars if it bought Netflix.
