Swift Playgrounds 4 is now available on the App Store

Swift Playgrounds is a very effective and user-friendly way to learn how to code. And, with Swift Playgrounds 4, you can build iPhone and iPad apps directly on your iPad and send them to the App Store Connect, giving you a new way to easily create apps and share them with the world. As you write the applications, the code will appear immediately in the live preview, and you can run them in full screen to test them out. The new custom format based on Swift packs can be opened and edited at Swift Playgrounds for iPad as well as Xcode on Mac, giving you even more flexibility when developing applications for both iPad and Mac.

After the release of iPadOS 15.2, Apple finally released the long awaited update to Swift Theaters with the ability to create applications using the iPad. Swift Playgrounds 4 was announced back in June at WWDC 2021. The application helps developers and students learn Swift’s programming language, and a new feature lets developers build and install applications sent to the App Store directly from an iPad. Last month, 9to5Mac unveiled the first interface in the app with some exclusive screenshots of the application running on iPadOS 15.2. Thus, it is finally out for any user to try. For those unfamiliar, Swift Playgrounds is an Apple application to help developers and students learn Swift’s programming language. Here is how Apple describes the application:

Although before WWDC21 users were expecting a better Xcode application for the M1 iPad Pro, Apple surprised its customers with the release of Swift Playgrounds 4.

This update also lets users preview and view changes in real time as they type. Live editing also works when the composer shares a project with another via iCloud Drive, so many people can work on the same project at the same time. Users can even test the application on full screen, browse SwiftUI controls, browse through all the files in a project, use inline code tips quickly, and easily switch between Swift and Xcode Playgrounds (or opposite). You can download or update Swift Playgrounds for your iPad here. Just make sure you are already running iPadOS 15.2.

It is worth mentioning, however, that writing and sending applications to the Store Link requires iPadOS 15.2. The software update was released earlier this week, and should be released on your iPad if compatible. Swift Playgrounds is a free software that anyone can take advantage of. However, to submit the application to the store, you will need an Apple Developer account, which is $ 99 per year.
