While there are few reports of users unable to download apps from the App Store in the wild, the common problem seems to be that the problem is confined to users of macOS Mojave 10.14.
When you try to buy or download apps from the App Store, users receive an error stating that “we were unable to complete your purchase”, followed by the detailed text “canceled”. The error has also been reported when a user attempts to update an application. So far, only users who are currently running macOS Mojave 10.14. reported the problem. No problems have been reported for macOS Catalina 10.15 users.
Appleiphonestop was first informed of the problem by an informant pointing to Apple support forums. Sporadic mentions of the issue can also be found on social networks.

Suddenly, errors from the Mac App Store during the update / purchase:
“We were unable to complete your purchase.
Caches and preferences cleared, disconnected / connected – nothing. The last update was Logic. Research shows that this also happens to others, and a common th seems to be Mojave 10.14.6.

Users reported that they tried to clear the cache and certificates, as well as log in and log out, but to no avail. No one has reported resolving the problem.
Of the 31 installations running Mojave that Appleiphonestop has access to, only one machine and one iCloud account have the problem. The same iCloud account used on another machine has no download problem, so the problem does not seem to be related to an iCloud account. The problem is also not related to a recent update.
