Parler’s website, the conservative-friendly social media platform, was back online on Sunday, with a message for the company’s “lovers and enemies”.
“Hello world, is this thing there?” Parler CEO John Matze wrote on the website, above a note from the company stating that the platform would be restored once the challenges were resolved.
“Now seems like the right time to remind all of you, lovers and enemies, why we started this platform,” the note reads.
“We believe that privacy is paramount and freedom of speech essential, especially on social media. Our goal has always been to provide a non-partisan public square where people can enjoy and exercise their rights over both. “
Amazon Web Services suspended Parler from its servers last Sunday in the wake of the deadly US Capitol uprising, effectively taking the website offline unless it found a new company to host its services.
