You can watch game streams and videos on question with your friends on FaceTime calls, following a Twitch update. Allowing users to watch Twitch streams, or any videos on demand, together as a group, Twitch has added support for SharePlay features. SharePlay is available on the iPhone with iOS 15.1 and later, and on the iPad with iPadOS 15.1 and later, according to the Twitchlay Twitch page. The Twitch application on Apple TV does not support SharePlay, currently.
To start a SharePlay session, users will need to be in an active FaceTime call and install the Twitch app. All users will need to log in to their Twitch account properly.
How to watch Twitch streaming with friends using SharePlay
Start a FaceTime call with all participants Open the Twitch app and play the stream you want to watch together Confirm that you will want to play the stream for all participants Once the SharePlay session has started, all participating participants will be synchronized at the same point in the stream. In addition, controls that just stream playback, such as pause and play, will also be synchronized.
While participating in the call, users will read as individual viewers the Twitch stream. As a result, participants will be able to chat, follow, share, and enjoy from their respective accounts.
SharePlay, announced at Apple’s annual WWDC in May 2021, is a new feature of FaceTime that allows users to share media with family and friends such as video, music, applications, and screens.
