On iOS and Android, ‘Rocket League Sideswipe’ rolls around the world

Rocket League mobile game Sideswipe is rolling out to iOS and Android users around the world, 9to5Mac reported after launching into pre-season earlier this month. 2D version of Rocket League that lets you play solo or team with friends for two vs. two matches, the team-rolling car football game that was unveiled earlier this year as a mobile.

Like the original, Sideswipe is all about that car football life, but with a 2D team instead of a 3D view. It uses touch controls designed to be easy to control, with advanced control devices available for the best performers. Like the original, there is a location system and plenty of car customization options. The game is free on mobile, with in-app purchases for Rocket Pass and cosmetics.

As with the pre-installed trailer, the official gameplay video brings a similar look and feel like the original but suitable for a simple mobile game. Login with Epic Games account for online games will let you earn extra XP across both regular Rocket League games and Sideswipe. The game was launched earlier in Oceania to shake off any bugs, but is now available to everyone on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
