On behalf of the governments, Apple sued NSO Group, a company known for hacking iPhones

An Israeli company that sells software to government agencies and law enforcement that allows them to hack iPhones and read data on them, including communications, Apple has sued the NSO Group. Amnesty International said it had recently discovered iPhone models belonging to journalists and human rights lawyers who had been infected with the NSO Group malware, earlier this year.

Apple said on Tuesday in a statement that the attacks targeted only a small number of customers, saying on Tuesday that it would inform iPhone users who may be targeted by the software, which it calls FORCEDENTRY.
