Developers can release update releases of iOS 15.5 beta 2 and iPadOS 15.5 beta 2, as well as macOS Monterey 12.4 beta 2. The Apple beta environment for what may be the final update before iOS 16 goes into testing is speeding up. The Cupertino-based company launched new betas for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices on Tuesday.
More New Features, Most Bug fixes in New iPhone Betas Apple release notes for these homes are sparse. This is not surprising, because newer versions of iOS and iPadOS 15 already exist. Apple uses these small site reviews to fix bug fixes and patch security breaches. As previously noted, there are a few minor tweaks users may notice. The operating system is redesigning Apple Pay Cash to appear in Messages like Apple Cash. There were also new questions and sending keys when you opened your Apple Cash card in Wallet, and Cupertino has started referring to its own Apple Card as its “Titanium Card”.
The updates also bring new Wi-Fi signal meters into the Home app for your HomePod devices. This will make troubleshooting connection problems much easier, because you can simply look to make sure your smart speaker is connected to Wi-Fi. No new features have been found yet within the macOS Monterey 12.4 beta, although some of us have been running since its first release. Apple notes that users of Global Control need to make sure their Macs and iPads all have the same beta versions, or the feature will not work. Apple also launched a third beta for tvOS 15.5 and audioOS 15.5 (operating system on HomePod devices.) Apple Watch owners are writing a new test, in particular, with watchOS 8.6 beta 3 available for release.
Note that these are betas developer, and that beta versions have not yet been released. We expect the sooner, though, maybe by Thursday. You can download betas from Apple’s Developer Program. If your device is already registered, go to Settings> General> Software Update on your iPhone or iPad to check for the latest version. Mac users need to navigate to Settings Favorites> Software Update. If the new beta does not appear immediately, check periodically.
