MusicMatch makes it easy to share music between streaming services on iOS 15

MusicMatch is an iOS application that allows Spotify users to open Apple Music links and Apple Music users to open Spotify links in the music streaming service of their choice. It has always been difficult to share links between music streaming services. The links do not work easily, and in most cases, it only works 15-30 samples because the service requires subscription. The main difference between all the major music streaming services these days is their features. Spotify is well-known for its own AI-enabled playlists, Apple Music is a great option for those who have a local music library in addition to streaming, and Pandora is well known for its radio features. In any case, there is no wrong decision. The catalogs are very similar, and the price is the same in all major artists.

The MusicMatch iOS app bridges the gap for those who use Spotify but have Apple Music friends or vice versa, at least on the iPhone and iPad. The application allows Spotify listeners to open Apple Music links in Spotify and Apple Music users to open Spotify links within Apple Music. And with the Safari extension, users can do this without having to open the app. And according to the app description, support for YouTube Music, Tidal and Pandora is on the way. The app is available as a free download and requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or higher. And for Mac users, the application requires a Mac with an M1 chip running macOS 12.0 Monterey or later. Unfortunately, the application is not compatible with Macs with Intel chips.

The app is pretty straightforward. Simply open the ‘Settings’ application, scroll down to ‘Safari,’ click ‘Extensions,’ turn on ‘MusicMatch,’ and turn on ‘All Websites.’ With the extension, users do not need to copy the URL, they can easily click the links, and it will automatically open in the complete music streaming application.

Overall, it solves a problem that many have been complaining about over the years as the number of music streaming services continues to grow and as more and more people start subscribing to music streaming services. While it is good that it is available on iOS, the performance will be great on all platforms. Spotify and Apple Music are easily the two most popular music streaming services out there, and Tidal, YouTube Music, and Pandora are not too far away. However, support for more niche services such as Qobuz, Deezer, and Amazon Music will also be appreciated.
