MacOS Big Sur users report screensaver bugs on Mac PC

Software updates are rarely smooth. For example, macOS Big Sur users reported that an update turned their MacBooks to bricks in November 2020. This time around, it would appear that more users are running into a screensaver bug on their Mac PCs.

According to MacRumors, users have complained that their Mac computers often get stuck on the screensaver. Currently, older and current Macs with Apple M1 are both affected by this bug. The reason for this is said to be the Fast User Switching feature, which many Mac users have enabled.

In case you don’t know, Fast User Switching allows users to switch between user accounts on Mac computers without having to log out. When this happens, a screensaver is sometimes triggered that gets stuck on the screen. Users should use methods such as manually closing and reopening the lid to return to the login page.
