MacOS 12.3 Bring Global Control and Audio to Mac

Global Control and Audio capabilities are available to all Mac users through the latest MacOS 12.3 update, following the beta testing period. However, due to the current Global Control functionality being developed, users may encounter challenges while attempting to move windows between iPad OS and MacOS. Global Control, which debuted at the WWDC in May 2021, allows dual-screen applications to work seamlessly across devices. This means that with a mouse click, the user can transfer an image from the iPad to a Mac computer or desktop. The feature has slowed down lately at the end of last year, despite its excitement.

In terms of compatibility, it is available on any Mac from 2016 onwards and any iPad 6 generation or newer. The feature does not work between two iPads. Mac must be in chain.

Together with Global Control, Apple has launched a Spatial Audio feature for AirPods. Announced at the Unleashed Event of October last year, it brings 360-degree sound to video calls, movies and music. Dolby Atmos is a Spatial Audio audio support technology for Apple Music and streaming movies. Audio Spatial requires an M1-compatible Mac and is limited to third-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

To download MacOS 12.3, users can click the Apple icon, scroll down to Settings Preferences and then to Software Update. Originally published on March 14, 2022 at 3:58 pm PT.
