Little changed when Walmart launched Fintech Startup, Apple’s iPhone 12 sells well in China

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^ DJI) was slightly modified at 1:45 PM EST Tuesday, up just 0.1%, as the US grapples with a highly uncertain situation in Washington and a pandemic that remains out of control. The House plans to vote on President Donald Trump’s impeachment on Wednesday for his role in last week’s riots on the United States Capitol just days before President-elect Joe Biden takes office. Meanwhile, the daily deaths attributed to COVID-19 are on average higher than the first peak of the pandemic in April.

Moving on to individual stocks, shares of Walmart (NYSE: WMT) rose Tuesday after the retailer announced it was launching a fintech start-up, while shares of tech giant Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) fell despite indications from strong sales of iPhone 12 in China.
