Lacrosse has 17 players named to the Academic All-MAC team

The Central American Assembly selected a total of 84 student athletes to this year’s team on Tuesday, announcing the launch of a program with 17 All-MAC School receivers for the Kent State lacrosse. The 17-year-old athlete on the Golden Flashes was the most talked about at the conference. The All-MAC School Team recognizes student athletes who have excelled in education and sports. To qualify, a student athlete must have an average GPA of at least 3.20 and have competed in at least 50% of the competitions for that sport. The gift is not for first-year students or transfers in the first year of their residence.

Senior Eva Nikolai is one of only four student athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Kelli Bailey, Meghan Cawood, Madison Flannigan, Megan French, Abby Jones, Allison Kortowich, Megan Kozar, Morgan Kubicki, Lexi Piekarski, Madison Rapier and Kenzie Sklar joined Nikolai to win points on the team for the second year in a row. Anna Gellin, Lily Miller, Jackie Wolford, Anna Woodhams and Jordan Zablo were each named to the team for the first time.

Head coach Brianne Tierney achieved great success both on site and in the classroom during the spring semester. The Flash sets a record for wins and qualifies for the first MAC Lacrosse competition while earning 3.473 GPA spring, the team’s eighth time with 3.3 or higher.
