Kraft Mac & Cheese is launching recyclable mugs as sustainability gains popularity

Kraft Mac & Cheese is attempting to go green.

The two-step macaroni brand is testing a sustainable option with a recyclable fiber-based cup, Kraft Heinz announced Wednesday.

Later in the year, the company will launch a new product called Kraft Mac & Cheese Shapes, which will use this fiber-based mug instead of traditional plastic, according to its press release. The fiber-based mug will also do away with plastic labels for a directly printed logo.

STARBUCKS PROMOTES SUSTAINABILITY BY REDUCING WASTE AND CONSERVING WATER

Each fiber-based mug is designed to be recyclable and compostable. Kraft is reportedly working with “outside partners” to create mug labels that provide customers with instructions on how to recycle them after eating.
