According to Bloomberg, Apple is working to launch a subscription service for the iPhone and other Apple devices, similar to the automated rental system. Think of it as paying for Apple Music every month.

Instead of paying fees that will equal the cost of the device, the charge will be a monthly fee based on the type of device the user chooses. Sources told Bloomberg that the app subscription service is set to launch by the end of 2022, but could also be pushing into the coming year – or nixed all together. 2. 3. Initial founders bracing for reduction. As VCs grow more cautiously, some startups turn into “extension rounds,” small rounds of funding from existing or new investors in which they sell shares at the same rate as those of it is in the previous budget. Get rundown on extension rounds.

4. Uber has agreed to list all NYC taxis on its app. After years of competition, Uber will incorporate roughly 14,000 city cabs into its app. Taxi trips will be about the same size as the Uber X ride, the company said. Get the full rundown here.
