Everyone, from fitness addicts to the more athletic, will appreciate the new training and fitness features provided with OS 7, as well as with iOS 14.
Apple spent a lot of time in its WWDC opening speech talking about its new fitness features coming this year, and for good reason. There are changes – big and small – that users will clearly see when they update their Apple to OS 7. But what Apple has discussed a lot less is how the changes are not just on Apple, there are some that come from the iPhone side as well.
Apple users have been able to view their Apple fitness informationon on their iPhone for a while in the Activity app. This year, Apple is changing the name of the app to “Fitness,” which further includes activity and training data. However, it may be confusing that activity and training are always two separate apps on Apple.
Fitness widget in iOS 14
Fitness and activity data can now also be displayed in the new widgets to come on iOS 14. The fitness activity widget is available in small and medium sizes. The smallest size shows your rings, as well as your progress for each of the three goals. Medium displays this same data, as well as graphs of your progress throughout the day.
Summary tab redesigned in the Fitness app
By jumping into the new Fitness app, the number of tabs has been dramatically reduced from five individual tabs to just two. The sharing remains the same, but everything else has been integrated almost into the new Summary tab. This shows your daily goals and your progress to the top, followed by your most recent workouts. There is also a record of trends, as well as awards.
Each of these subcategories of the Summary tab can be used to view additional informationon. No real new informationon is presented here, it is simply organized in a more practical way than before.

Next, the Sharing tab has an updated Volt green color for the buttons. There is an upward sorting function, and the previous human avatar for activity sharing has been replaced with a modified “share” icon.
Apple and OS 7
Application of activity under OS 7
Moving on to Apple, there are a few more changes.
First, we see the new complication face X-Large. It displays any extra-large complications on the screen, with the clock just above. It is not specific to activities or workouts, but it allows you to show your activity rings in front and in the center when you check your.
Weekly summary and goal change buttons in the OS 7 Activity app
If we go to the Activity app, we don’t see a lot of changes. When you scroll down, there are new buttons for the weekly summary as well as to change the travel goal. These functions were there before, but they were accessible via Force Touch. Force Touch disappears in OS 7, but Apple had to move these buttons elsewhere. In this case, the bottom of the Activity app view.
New types of training are coming to OS 7
Then there are the workouts, maybe this is where most of the users will spend most of their time using these apps. Users benefit from four new or revised training sessions with OS 7 – Basic Training, Functional Strength Training, Dance and Cooldown. Basic training existed before, but this new version has been updated to be more precise.
The dance was particularly difficult for Apple to succeed. He worked hard to get a specific number of calories for a number of different dance types such as hip hop, Bollywood, Latin and cardio. Dance is now divided into two categories for social dance as well as fitness dance.
Apple will launch iOS 14 and OS 7 this fall, when users can take advantage of all of these new workout and fitness features. And that rubs shoulders with countless new features, including the handwashing function and the sleep tracking function.
