Mobile, Ala. (WKRG) – It was before Christmas when we met Emma Boren. He was directing a rehearsal of the Knollwood Christian Academy Christmas comedy.
Normally, Boren, who has been teaching for six years, teaches math and language to middle school students in Knollwood.
Bill: “… and can you also direct a play?” Emma: “Apparently …” Bill: “Did you volunteer?” Emma: “Like, yeah …”.
But to a grateful parent, Boren is more than just a teacher and director. Lisa Tew says she was a great help to her son.
“It’s on the high-functioning spectrum,” Tew said. “And during the pandemic, I was really worried about even sending him back.”
The COVID pandemic has brought about many changes not only for students, but also for teachers. Tew said Boren approached the plate to help his son adjust to the changes of returning to class.
“Staying after school, helping them when they don’t understand, when they just need that extra push …”
Our congratulations to Emma Boren and the Knollwood Christian Academy for a great job.
