Even if you are different you can enjoy watching Twitch together. On the iPhone and iPad, Twitch has announced that it has added support for SharePlay. You can watch the Twitch stream together during a FaceTime call with the feature. Users should be able to stream AirPlay streaming Twitch to their Apple TV although Twitch says the feature is limited to the iPhone and iPad. At this time, the feature will not work with Mac.
SharePlay is Apple’s new FaceTime feature that launches with iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, and tvOS 15. It lets people share in movies, TV shows, games, workouts, and more in sync via FaceTime.
SharePlay sessions offer streaming playback controls, so anyone on a FaceTime call can play, pause, or skip while enjoying synchronized media. With powerful volume controls, audio from streaming content will automatically decrease when a FaceTime participant is talking, making it easier to continue communicating with friends regardless of loud event or end singer. When users want to have something interrupted, they can easily press the Messages button in the FaceTime controls to jump to the shared cable and let the conversation continue. Each participant in SharePlay sessions streams directly from the relevant application on their device, delivering high quality audio and video. Apple TV supports SharePlay so users can watch shared shows or movies on the big screen while using the personal device to continue connecting with friends on FaceTime.
SharePlay did not come out with the initlal launch of iOS 15 and others but it is now available for all kinds of applications to take advantage of.
