For 2022, Google smartwatch first set release in order to break Apple’s hold on the market

In 2022, Google is working on its first in-house smartwatch, which it plans to release, in order to challenge Apple’s capabilities in the wearable device segment. The news was first reported by Business Insider, citing sources. The device, dubbed “Rohan”, is not owned by Fitbit but by Google Pixel.

The report states that “a Google-branded smartwatch will hit the toe-to-toe company with Apple, whose watch has demonstrated the success and management of the smartwatch product,” the report said.

The watch is called “Pixel Watch”, unlikely to match Google’s line of Pixel smartphones, although authorities have used “Android Watch” and several other names to address it, the report said.

This confirms another report from Jon Prosser, a blog known for distributing Android marketers, in April this year. Mr Prosser has confirmed the existence of the device and its Rohan code name.

Google did not comment on the rumors or speculation, the company’s Mena office told the Nation on Sunday when it requested a comment.

This is not Google’s first attempt at making its own smartwatch: Google’s exclusive wearable application was launched at the last minute in 2016, after the company decided to focus on its Wear OS software, instead of integrating it into its own application. .

Any Google attempts to take over the Apple Watch would be a high order, given the head start of the iPhone maker and the distribution of the ordered product in the smartwatch section.

Apple continues to take the lead, with its watchOS platform enjoying a market share of 21.8 per cent, the market report wearables Counterpoint Research for the third quarter of 2021 shows.

However, Google’s Wear OS grew 14.1 percent to 17.3 percent from the previous quarter, thanks to a shift in Samsung watch sales. Fitbit ordered a 4.4 percent market share.

In terms of shipping features, Apple dominated the market, with 32.2 million watches sold in the second quarter of 2021 for 34.1 percent, according to the International Data Corporation.

Xiaomi is a fast second with 11.8 percent. Apple shares grew only 9.3 percent annually, with the rest of the top brands, including Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung, down less than 37 percent.

Google’s smartwatch is round and similar to what Samsung and Huawei have, but without the bezels, according to Insider reports. It will include heart rate monitoring and health-based features as a step-by-step analysis.

Growth is accelerating this year, with Google even allowing staff outside its watchdog team to test it.

The launch in the spring is possible if new test rounds are successful but this will change based on the staff results.

The device will come with its own property groups – similar to Apple’s – with Google emphasizing compatibility for a larger user base.

The report states, “The early intelligence document obtained by Insider outlines Google’s plans to build a watch that will be comfortable to wear for at least 90 percent of the population,” the report said, citing the report. .

The document states that “insufficient size excludes some users from completely ‘wearable’ wristables”.

Google will not be the only Apple challenge. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Meta Platforms, a company previously known as Facebook, was developing a smartwatch with a front-facing and round-camera camera, according to a photo seen in one of the iPhone’s social media company.
