When hundreds of people stormed the United States Capitol during the 2020 election vote count, one thing was very evident: many of them were holding on to iPhones.
In the days following the attack on the Capitol on January 8, it was clear that iPhones would play an important role in the arrests and possible prosecutions of some participants. Many of those who took part in the insurgency not only filmed and streamed footage, but were seen on cameras of photos and videos shot by others, sometimes in the act of committing crimes.
