Even though it is a little scary, Apple claims to have dropped Lightning for iPhone 14

According to rumors, it will have a USB-C port where the Monomono connection is currently on the iPhone 13, iPhone 14 may have a very significant change. Apple has already used USB-C in my Macbook Pro and iPad Air, predictions seem very real to me because the European Union has relied on Apple to get USB-C for a while.

It does not matter whether the iPhone will be transferred to USB-C; it is a matter of which models will take first. The smart money is available on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Apple’s own T3 consultant Matthew Bolton says this in relation to the iPhone 14 running USB-C:

“I think Apple will switch to USB-C in iPhones in 2022 or 2023 – but it will be possible when Apple specifically updates the design, and we are not sure if that will be the iPhone 14 or 15. Apple has move almost every iPad line-up to USB-C instead of Lightning now, so it seems like a matter of time. The big smile in the room is the EU rules proposed for making Apple switch to USB-C, although, and when it will start, think it is over. Previously, I would have predicted that Apple would include USB-C to the iPhone Pro models first, and then the rest a year later. But with the passage of time, I would not be surprised if they all changed at once. ”

There is no need for a kung-fu fight on a little Light

It’s all about waste. Instead of companies offering all kinds of chargers and chargers and those cables that end up in the dump, the EU wants to impose a standard for wired charging: USB-C. That applies not only to smartphones but also to portable speakers, charging cases such as those of AirPods and AirPods Pro, and better wireless headsets like the AirPods Max. It remains unlikely to do so until 2024, but I think Apple will start changing before then. You already have it with your Macs and are starting to do the same with the best Beats headsets.

Lightning struck yesterday. Unless Apple uses a fraction of its capacity, it doesn’t offer as much power as USB-C can carry – 120W in the case of Xiaomi Mi Mix 4’s USB-C charger and possibly 240W in future Android chargers – and it doesn’t USB-C data speeds either. That’s important, especially in Pro templates: ProRes video files are high quality and excellent transfer over fast possible connections.

Apple could fight the EU, which if nothing else would allow me to use the title of The Brigade The Light (ning). But it will be an empty victory even if Apple wins, which is not guaranteed in any way. Like the 30-pin connector before, it was lightning time to go.
