Driving and driving is a big issue all over the world, and the phone in your pocket may be able to handle it more efficiently. Apple Car’s Rendering Apple recently patented a new technology that will enable an iPhone, Apple Watch, or any other connected product to work as a breathalyser. As anyone can predict, this functionality will allow the Apple device to determine whether it has drunk or not and whether it should allow you to drive.
If you are thinking that the iPhone will not be able to do anything to prevent driving under the influence, well, you better think again. Not too long ago, Apple announced Car Car Digital, a feature that allows the iPhone to double as a car key. In other words, the iPhone (and now even the Apple Watch) can replace traditional car keys and let users unlock their car doors and start the device. You should have seen where this was already going. If the Apple device determines the high level of alcohol, it can lock drivers out of their cars, and of course, they will not allow you to complain because everything happens for good reason.
The patent was discovered recently, and it describes a backup system that will allow drivers to confirm that they are completely capable of getting behind the wheel. The program includes many tests, including dexterity challenges and brain tests, which someone who is drinking may not be able to pass. So, everything sounds great on paper, but at the end of the day, it is important to remember that the whole thing is still in the patent stage right now. In other words, it is still a far cry from production yet, but do not be too surprised if it is on its way to the highly anticipated Apple Car by 2025.
