iFixit shared a first look at its AirPods Max teardown last month and has now completed the intricate process. The end result revealed some really interesting details about the AirPods Max such as the actually user-removable band, which might suggest customization, how the electromechanical hinge hardware works, and which are “actually quite repairable”. 9to5Mac also found that iOS devices can see the “band type” used by the AirPods Max.
