Best Weekend Deals: Lenovo Smart Clock and 4 Smart Bulbs for $ 30, Battlefield 1 for Under $ 1 and More

Before moving on to today’s business, a quick preview of something I’m working on: I just signed up for T-Mobile Home Internet, which promises unlimited high-speed service for $ 50 a month. The hardware is overdue, so it will take a couple of weeks before we have anything to report, but suffice to say, I’m thrilled to finally have a potential Comcast alternative – and a lot cheaper.

If you are a T-Mo Home Internet user, hit the comments and share what you like and what you don’t like. Otherwise, stay tuned!

Best buy

Lenovo Smart Clock Essential is an extremely popular bedside companion, offering a more traditional clock radio display supported by Google Assistant. It normally sells for $ 50, though it often went down to $ 25 during the holidays.

For just $ 5 more, the Best Buy package adds a four-pack of smart bulbs, which would normally cost you $ 45. They’re 60-watt equivalent soft white bulbs that you can control via app or voice assistant (natch).

I don’t know how long it can last at this price, but GameStop sells used copies of the console classic Battlefield 1 for just 99 cents – and that drops to 83 cents with the promo code CAG16. It’s only available for in-store pickup, so you’ll need to cross your fingers that the local GameStop has it in stock.

I was able to get a copy for Xbox One. Your mileage may vary, of course. To read GameSpot’s Battlefield 1 review to understand why it’s worth it.

We continue to be impressed with the EarFun earphones, which typically offer a lot of great features, solid sound quality, and really good prices. The EarFun Air, for example, is an AirPods alternative that mimics Apple’s tube design. While it lacks active noise cancellation (relying instead on basic noise isolation), it includes both USB-C and wireless charging and in-ear detection. This means that when you remove a headset, your music starts automatically. Great feature.

Cheapskate Jr. has been using them for months. His verdict: “These are the perfect earphones”. EarFun Air has also been featured on David Carnoy’s list of best Apple AirPods alternatives.

My opinion? Incredible value for the money.
