Continuing on its promise to add HomeKit to its product line, Arlo has just rolled out full HomeKit support for the relatively new Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera.
The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Cam launched earlier in 2020 and was initially only supported in the Arlo app. With Friday’s HomeKit integration, the camera appears in the Home app, as does the motion sensor, two-way communication, and light. The light is also adjustable, which allows users to change the brightness of the LED panel.
Users can use the Pro 3 Floodlight Cam’s motion sensor to trigger various scenes and other props. For example, the Pro 3 Floodlight Cam could detect motion which could then be used to turn on a user’s outdoor lights which are controlled through a HomeKit wall switch or outdoor outlet.

Another use case is to turn on the LED spotlight when a door is opened or another camera detects motion. HomeKti can also tell the projector to turn on at different brightness depending on the time of day.
Arlo has previously rolled out HomeKit support on the Arlo Pro 3 line, Arlo Ultra 4K, Arlo Ultra 4K 2, and others. However, users are still waiting for HomeKit support for Arlo’s smart video doorbell.
While HomeKti support is welcome – especially with projector support – HomeKit Secure Video is not supported on any Arlo cameras. This is likely due to the wealth of features supported in the Arlo app and with an Arlo Smart subscription and the higher resolution that most Arlo cameras are capable of taking photos that are not supported by HomeKit. .
