Rumors are circulating that the much-anticipated reality headset will be unlocked soon. While Apple’s AR / VR headset is expected to be announced at the next WWDC event, Mark Gurman believes it may not happen early. Instead, he will “watch out” for the announcement of a headset during the event.
However, so far, new trademark launches have been made online that have mentioned the “realityOS” moniker on paper which confirms the recent release of the mixed reality headset. Vox Media’s Parker Ortolani has found two US patents registered by a company called Realityo Systems LLC. The patents are trueOS for “embedded software.” Interestingly, the patent expires on May 8, which is just two days after WWDC 2022. Ortolani mentions that it may not be a coincidence that the patent of the company, which does not exist, is essential for computer applications wearable dated June 8. For those unfamiliar, Realityo Systems LLC has the same address as Yosemite Research LLC, which is Apple’s shell company used to darken the details of previous macOS versions. Now, as long as Realityo Systems LLC has the same address as Yosmite Research LLC and patent in particular mentions the “embedded software application,” it could also be Apple’s shell brand mark to keep the details of trueOS that will work on Apple’s upcoming integration -set headset.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time we have seen a reference to a trueOS on a page. A developer named Steve Troughton-Smith also found a reference of trueOS in a source code. First, the world of realityOS was reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in 2017. As for its release, Gurman has already indicated that the integrated reality headset may not be launched until 2023. However, if this new trademark is to believe, Apple may give us a combined headset reality at the WWDC 2022 event, if not fully announced.
