Apple’s own privacy policy failed to be used by the Apple Watch Mail application

The official Apple Watch Mail application failed to use the company’s Privacy Mail protection feature discovered by the developer and security researcher.

The feature has been unveiled as part of iOS 15 and Apple is releasing as well as offering three private security systems.

About Mail Privacy Protection Apple says the feature protects your location, prevents hacking, and prevents shoppers from seeing whether you have opened an email or not.

Received emails can include hidden pixels that allow the email sender to write information about it. Once you open an email, information about your Mail service may be collected by the sender without transparency and the ability to manage the type of information you share. Email senders can learn when and how often you open their email, whether you send the email, your Internet Protocol (IP) address and other data that can be used to build a profile of your behavior and learn your location.

If you choose to turn it on, Mail Privacy helps to protect your privacy by preventing email senders, including Apple, from writing information about your Mail service. When you receive an email in the Mail application, instead of downloading the content remotely when you open the email, Mail Privacy protects remote content in the background by default regardless of how you deal with the email. Apple did not disclose any information about the content.

In addition, all remote content downloaded by Mail is silent by multiple proxy servers, preventing the sender from rejecting your IP address. Instead of sharing your IP address, which may allow the email sender to learn your location, Apple’s proxy network will randomly assign an IP address that matches the local area of your device. As a result, email senders will receive only generic information rather than information about your behavior. Apple did not access your IP address.

The feature works in Settings> Mail> Privacy protection.
