According to a letter sent this month to the developers involved in the case, Dutch competition authorities are approaching a draft decision in a years-long investigation of Apple into rules requiring software developers to use its payment system in -app.
The Dutch Consumer and Markets Authority, or ACM, said in 2019 that it was investigating Apple’s requirement for developers to use its payment system, which charges fees of between 15% and 30%.
If it makes a decision soon, the ACM could become the first antitrust authority to govern the payment policies of Apple’s app stores, which have long attracted complaints from app developers. The European Commission last year opened a …
