Apple Valley woman kidnapped at gunpoint outside home, suspect arrested – VVNG.com

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A 25-year-old man from Hemet was arrested after robbing a woman at gunpoint in Apple Valley.

It happened on January 8, 2021, around 7:20 pm, in the 12000 block of Standing Bear Road.

Sheriff officials said the 50-year-old victim stopped in his driveway when the suspect, later identified as Robert Garcia, approached his vehicle and knocked on his car window.

According to a sheriff’s press release, “the victim told Garcia to leave her alone, but Garcia proceeded to open the car door, pointing a semi-automatic pistol at her and asking her to get out of her vehicle.”

The victim was not injured and was able to run into his home and ask for help.

A short time later, lawmakers located the victim’s vehicle near block 21,000 of Nisqually Road. Deputies searched the area and found Garcia hiding in a nearby residence where he was arrested without incident.
