Apple has ordered Parler to tighten its moderation tactics and delete “questionable content” from the platform within the next 24 hours or else it will launch from the App Store.
The decision comes the day after Parler’s CEO flaunted the platform’s direct approach to content moderation in the wake of the premeditated chaos at the US Capitol, much of which has been linked to Parler. In an email Apple sent to Parler this morning (Pacific Time) and obtained from Input, the company provided numerous examples of Parler users explicitly invoking violence and referenced CEO John Matze’s comment that ” does not feel responsible for any of this and neither does the platform. “
