Weisman is also executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming Apple TV + drama “Physical”, which features Rose Byrne playing a tortured housewife who claims power through aerobics in southern California in the 1980s.
The new global agreement, first reported by Deadline, is a broader contract that will see Weisman develop other content and television projects exclusively for Apple’s streaming platform.
Weisman, known for having worked as a screenwriter-producer for seasons 7 and 8 of “Desperate Housewives”, was recently contracted with Universal TV, where she was the presenter of the drama of a season “Almost Family”.
The contract with Weisman is just the latest in a series of similar global offer that Apple TV + has signed with writers and producers. Some names on the Apple TV + list include Alfonso Cuaron, Justin Lin, Sharon Horgan, Oprah and others.
