Apple plans redesigned iMac, new Mac Pro, smaller Mac Pro, cheaper monitor

According to people familiar with the plans, Apple Inc. is planning the first redesign of its all-in-one iMac desktop computer since 2012, part of the move from Intel Corp. processors to its own silicon.

The new models will reduce the thick black borders around the screen and eliminate the sizable metal chin area in favor of a similar design to Apple’s Pro Display XDR monitor. These iMacs will have a flat back, moving away from the curved back of the current iMac. Apple plans to …
